BIOGRAPHY

Gregg Rossetti (b. 1982) is not only a composer, but a music producer and engineer as well as a teacher of several instruments. His compositional portfolio is growing quickly, encompassing many genres including string quartets and orchestral work, to jazz fusion and rock. Playing saxophone in school band as a child sparked his interest in music; he began writing pieces for saxophone and guitar and experimenting with MIDI composition. In high school, Gregg was awarded the "Music Technology Award" for his knowledge and creative works with MIDI and digital recording. At Muhlenberg College, he attained skills required to play and write jazz, as well as conducting experience. He studied with Douglas Ovens, where he wrote and performed pieces for concert band and orchestra, as well as some chamber pieces. He went on to study composition at the graduate level at Montclair State University with Dean Drummond and Grammy award-winning composer Robert Aldridge, where he continued his pursuit of orchestral music and delved into microtonal music. Now, as a teacher (both privately and at Montclair State University), he pushes a strong emphasis on theory, and as a producer, uses these skills to analyze the effectiveness of the project being created.
